Here at James Boat and Fiberglass Repair, we always strive to do a fabulous job on everything we do, but have really had some wonderful results from our great upholstery staff.  As a reminder, we do our own upholstery mostly, in our great new shop we recently moved into alongside our fiberglass and accessory shop.

We've moved!  But only a couple doors down.

We have been operating for some time with our Upholstery Shop and Fiberglass and mechanical shop separately.  This has worked out alright, but in an effort to make it easier and make a better interactive experience for our clients, we were able to acquire a larger shop within the same complex in Dixon and house BOTH our repair and upholstery shops together - at last!

Our new address is slightly different.  It's now 430 Gateway Dr, Suite A.  The transformation of this new space presented some challenges.  We had to go through a process of ventilation upgrade (for the repair/fiberglass work) and new large retractable doors to accommodate our larger crafts.  Permits and supplies were an obstacle, but we're finally all together as one.

We appreciate all of our current customer's patience during this growing pain, but we are poised and ready for the new season and able to assist more than ever now.  Please stop by and say hello or call and schedule an appointment to upgrade your fun this summer!

Despite the crazy year that 2020 presented to all of us, and the challenges for both individuals and businesses alike, we are happy to announce that boating and RVing this past year were favorite pastimes of people who wanted to escape their homes but didn't have too many other places they could go for entertainment.  

Because of that, we at James Boat and Fiberglass Repair (and Upholstery) have experienced a very busy year!  As a result, we have moved into a larger (twice as big) facility in the same complex we have been housing our Upholstery Shop.  This is located at 420 Gateway Dr, Suite D, Dixon, CA 95620.

We have even more capacity now for our ever-increasing upholstery business, and can expand our accessories as well.

We want to thank all of our previous and soon to be patrons with us, and let you know we are as determined as ever to provide you with the best possible service and results!

​Recently we had a client with a fishing boat come to us and desiring of a new Bimini top for his vessel.  The manufacturer did have a solution, but it was very expensive and lacked the design that would allow this enthusiast to fish from under the cover.  Straps were in the way, and the low profile would make it difficult to work with his tackle effectively under cover.

After discussing with him his needs and desires for an effective cover, we took some measurements and went to work.  The resulting design we gave him has a very sturdy setup with metal posts (providing more space and a much more sturdy top when up and when motoring to and fro around the waterways.  For added functionality, we provided heavy duty zippers (1 in Stainless) to allow access to the bow and also casting forward.

James Delta Boat and Fiberglass Repair is moving - again!  While we lose the convenience of indoor storage that was offered by our neighbors (they have left too), we now have a great sized facility centrally located in Dixon that works perfectly for both our clients and us!

Our Upholstery shop has plenty of room, and we are good to go!

By the way, you may want to take advantage of our new location to get your boat repaired or updated.  As the boating season winds down, NOW is the perfect time to take advantage and get those things you've been putting off on your vessel handled! 

Maybe it's time to replace that faded or torn upholstery with new vibrant materials and colors.  We can make the interior of your "baby" like new!  Or perhaps your carpet or flooring in your boat are ripped or faded and it's time to replace.  Consider replacing with the latest and greatest wet resistant flooring out there - Sea Deck!  It's fantastic and very fade and slip resistant for your comfort and pleasure!

Recently JBR got a request from an owner of an older Wellcraft Cruiser to update it's look. He suggested a thorough clean up, some paint for the underside of the boat which was worn from years in the water, and some fresh new graphics to modernize the look.  

Together they agreed on the changes, and then decided to really add to the boat's appeal with two great loungers, custom designed to fit perfectly and match the boat's classy interior.  By mounting them on the closed bow, the vessel not only uses space not previously used, but adds a visual accent and a bit of practicality for it's owners.

​Now, with two beautifully accented loungers that are as comfortable as they are good looking, the Wellcraft has an even more impressive stature.

The owners love the new look and function!  Now they have a social space on board that previously was only used for dropping and lifting an anchor!  

To top it all off, James' Boat Repair designed some beautiful matching covers to protect the loungers from the elements when not in use.  A great affordable way to increase space and function while updating the entire look and feel of the boat!
